Аннотация: An introduction to Victorian and Edwardien portraits selected by the Nationsl Portrait Galery and the National Trust. From thq revolutionary ideas of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in the mid-nineteenth century to the outstanding society portraits of the early twentieth century, this guide encomprasses the invention of photography, large narrative paintings and popular prints depicting events, royality, statesmen, soldiers, scientists, actors and writers.
